Lots of eating & driving

This weekend was eventful and, as always, WAY TOO SHORT.

Saturday was the highly anticipated St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hartford, CT where college kids to old folks alike get TURNT AND CRAZY. Lucas and I had planned to go there but we woke up at 7 in the morning and decided we were literally too scared to go to the parade. Then debated whether or not we regretted this decision for the entire rest of the day. Because we are both clearly ninety years old. And didn't know if we could handle all of that fun and debauchery at our old and tender age.

Instead, we went to one of our favorite restaurants in West Hartford, called Tisane's. Tisane's is notorious for being one of the spots in West Hartford/Hartford for gay people and that's one of the many reasons we love coming here. Even though Lucas does get hit on by thirsty thots sometimes (like this one random girl smiling and fluttering and offering to pick up his keys when he dropped them... okay). We love this place.

In the above photo we learned that I am shamelessly un-photogenic.

About halfway through our meal a large group of Parade-goers entered the bar area and started making total hooligans of themselves. They were probably twice our age and definitely having more fun than us. I told Lucas, I was like, are we totally uppity and boring? Because we kept giving them side-eyes as they hollered and blew fog horns and shimmied their green beads at 3 in the afternoon. And I was like, but they're having so much fun! Who are we to judge them when I hope to be having at least half that amount of fun when I'm over forty years old. Geez.

Easy Like Sunday Morning: champagne, orange juice, and some other delicious stuff that made it more than just your average afternoon mimosa. And Lucas's standard Sauvignon Blanc, of course.

Avocado & bacon turkey burger with sweet potato fries. YUM.

Then I lost all self control and willpower and got a chocolate lava cake with hazelnut gelato, which Lucas BARELY TOUCHED. We were supposed to share but instead I just ended up looking like a greedy fatass. Nothing new there!

Sunday
I had dance rehearsal in Rhode Island and drove there in my brand new shiny Honda, which was a little tense to be honest. I feel like I don't feel like a car is an extension of my body (is it weird to even think that at all) until I've been driving in it for while. Plus, two hours there and back is a long drive and MY SEAT WARMERS ARE STUCK ON "ON". My ass was sweating, literally, for four hours. So that was awesome. Can't wait to bring this car back to Lia Hyndai and be like, what the fuck is up with THAT. My rehearsal went well and ended about a half hour early, so Lucas and I parked by the bay and walked around downtown Bristol, RI. One of my favorite towns ever. We settled at Thames Waterside Bar & Grill for lunch and ate in the outdoor enclosed area. With a beautiful view of the water. Ah.

Nothing on earth makes me happier than walking around outside, by the water, on a beautiful sunny day. That is life's greatest happiness for me. It was actually a great, albeit short, weekend.

What was your favorite cheat meal of the weekend?
Where is your happy place?
Did you do anything St. Patrick's Day-ish at all?
