Sea, Sun & Stress

Tomorrow is the last day of this Anatomy & Physiology 2 accelerated summer class that has been the bane of my existence for the past 8 weeks. I'm not going to lie, I have always been pretty good at school. I retain information well and luckily, learning has always come pretty easy to me.

This class has tested my willpower, mental strength, and personal relationships. NO EXAGGERATION. My recommendation to you is this: if you have friends, don't take an accelerated summer class. If you're in a relationship, probably don't take an accelerated summer class. I was somehow able to squeeze in the tiniest bit of play (like .02% of play) into the past 8 weeks, but it came with a price! Extreme stress, and having to make about 300 flashcards this afternoon. Not to mention, this class might all be for nothing if I change my mind about what I want to get my Master's in... oops. I'll write a post on this another time.

For now, here is where I'm at, what I've been doing, and an adorable picture of my friends' dog.

FF - The End Is Near

The end of my atrocious summer class, that is!

I have one week left. Not even one week, just six days from today. Both of my finals are this coming Thursday and I feel like a psychopath trying to fit in all the studying I need to do, while still making time for leading a real, human life.

This weekend I'm going to Boston to visit two of my best friends from college. I know this is insane considering that I should be spending every waking minute of my existence making flashcards, but one of these girls teaches for Teach For America in North Carolina and she goes back there next week. And I only see these ladies maybe twice a year! #justification?

So this week has been wildly stressful for a garden variety of reasons. I feel like a lot of people are in that boat with me. Are you? As a pick-me-up, here are some of my favorite things from this week, despite the whirlwind.

Friday Favorites & 1 Un-Favorite!

Congratulations, we made it to another Friday.

Did you have a good week this week? After last weeks' slump of post-Fourth grogginess, I really feel like this week was great. It flew by, but I was able to accomplish so much, in such a positive state of mind. It certainly didn't hurt that this Wednesday was PAY DAYYYYY.

QUICK WEEK RECAP:
+ I worked out every single day this week. I'm saying this prematurely because I have steadfast plans to workout after my shift at 1pm.
+ I studied 3 days of the week. Super impressive for me.
+ I found out my grades on last weeks' exams. A 92 and a 93.5. I'mma give myself a quick pat on the back y'all.
+ I blogged on Monday and I'm blogging today. That's twice as good as the blogging I did last month.
+ I ate smaller portions and chose healthier options every day this week. I said NO to ICECREAM. (This has never happened before)

Read on for my favorites (and one small un-favorite...) from this past week!

The Magic of Mondays

Monday gets quite a bad wrap by anyone who works a regular shift, don't you think?

There are so many negative phrases associated with this singular day of the week. A case of the Mondays. Mondays are garbage. I Googled "Monday" and the first automatic search that popped up was "Monday memes". Go look yourself! I bet you can guess what they all look like.

I challenge you to rethink your view of your Mondays. Like the start of each month, Mondays are a beautiful blank slate to me. Mondays are your restart button. You can either set Monday off on the wrong foot, or on such a positive note, you can't help but have a wonderful and productive week.

I don't want to sound preachy, even though I know I might. What I'm trying to get at is that your view of your Monday resides completely in your thought process and personal beliefs.

FF - Heat Wave Edition

We're in the middle of this wild New England heat wave where every day is over 90 degrees and every time you step foot outside it feels like you're walking into the Amazon Rain Forest. I'm not complaining - I love the heat - but the humidity is kind of crazy.

Also crazy that it's already July. For whatever reason it feels like this year is going by faster than all my others. I get anxiety about making my months/years as full and productive as possible. Even though I have accomplished a lot this year, for some reason it doesn't feel like enough...

Anyways here is a list of my favorite things as of late. Some big, some small, some bucket listers.

20 Ideas For An Absurdly Festive 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July!

I will be living vicariously through Snapchat, Instagram, and all the lovely blogs that I follow today since a) I have to work today. But hey, time and a half! and b) I have an exam on Tuesday and an exam on Wednesday. So unfortunately I don't really have time to be frolicking around and having fun in the sun. Although I did do that this weekend. I'll post about it sometime this week. I spent 2 and half days in Cape Cod and it was amazing.

So all you firecrackers out there, here I present you with 20 Ideas For An Absurdly Festive 4th of July!

June Recap & July Goals!

Hello, hello little space on the internet.

I have really missed writing here. Writing is one of my all time favorite creative outlets. There is a small part of me that deeply regrets not listening to my dad and my English teacher and pursuing a Journaling degree in college. I was hardheaded - I NEEDED to major in DANCE.

I won't deny that those were the best four years of my life. I was in shape and completely in tune with my mind, body, and soul. Now, this blog is where I can turn to unleash that creativity. So despite how busy and frazzled I am with this summer class, I do miss blogging, so so much.

Anyways! I think it's time to recap my month of June and plan out my month of July. Here goes nothing.
